FORMER The Bachelor contestant Rachael Gouvignon has a new lease on life, leaving the ‘bachie pad’ behind as part of her new role as a real estate agent.

The Perth woman, who was vying for the attention of last year’s The Bachelor star Richie Strahan and finished in the final four, said the experience was unique.

Ms Gouvignon, who previously worked in the disability services fields, said life after reality television had changed for her and opened her eyes to new experiences.

“I have been enjoying a bit of travel over east and to Bali, as well as getting back into my normal routine at home,” she said. “I have attended many events and was asked to judge the fashion on the fields, attend the Birdcage at Melbourne Cup and met some amazing people along the way.”

The brunette who was recently linked to the sales of tea and tanning lotion, said she was bemused to see some of the stories on her but said going through the show had made her stronger.

“The most important lesson I took away from this experience would have to be my resilience and strong mindset (that) I have always had, but going through this experience made me more aware of these strengths,” she said.

Now working in real estate, Ms Gouvignon said it wasn’t something that just happened and it had been a pathway she had always thought she might go down.

“I remember 10 or so years ago approaching a licensee about working at an agency, so it has always been in the pipeline for me,” she said.

“I guess now the timing is right. Growing up I spent a lot of time around building sites as my dad was a builder and I remember many weekends spent either at home opens or helping out at the building site. I guess it all stemmed from there.”

Ms Gouvignon said after completing her real estate training, she was excited to join Wright Real Estate, after being mentored by director Jeff Wright during her studies.

“To be a great real estate agent you need courage, persistence, patience and understanding, which I know I already have,” she said.
