ABORIGINART INDIGENOUS FINE ART GALLERY
ABORIGINART’S latest exhibition is titled Desert Contrasts and features a diverse selection of some highly colourful paintings interspersed with some stark black and white offerings.
“Such is the synergy of this Central Desert art that these amazing contrasts naturally compliment each other,” gallery director Bill Green said.
Artists on display include Gloria Petyarre, Tommy Watson, Judy Watson Napangardi, Evelyn Pultara, Kathleen Petyarre, Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi among others as well as the late greats Minnie Pwerle, Dorothy Napangardi and Kudditji Kngwarreye.
“This collection brings together some amazing contemporary paintings created by some of the most collectable indigenous artists in Australia today; the contrast between the stunning colour and minimalistic monotone work is simply breathtaking - it has to be seen to be believed,” Mr Green said.
The exhibition will run for the whole month of July.
Aboriginart is open 10am - 4pm, six days (closed Tuesday) at 6 Elder Place Fremantle (opposite the train station).
