CHAMPAGNE lovers, you are on notice.

Tyson Stelzer, the legendary workaholic wine and champagne author and connoisseur, is bringing his Taste Champagne 2017 with its more than 100 champagnes from 33 houses to Perth’s Pan Pacific Hotel on August 16.

Stelzer is an award-winning television presenter with the People of the Vines series on SBS, an in-demand international speaker on all things wine and the author of 15 books.

These awarded him the Europeanbased International Wine and Spirit Communicator of the Year for 2015.

He has also taken home the Wine Communicator of the Year in Australia in both 2013 and 2015, and, with his first Tyson Stelzer’s Champagne Guide he won the Louis Roederer International Wine Writer Award.

And amongst many other things, he is also the James Halliday Group of Publications’ Champagne and Sparkling Wine writer.

Stelzer is best known in WA for his influential Champagne Guide which is released every second year. The nearly completed 2018/19 edition will be released to all of the major bookstores in November this year.

The public champagne tasting, at $115, is at the Pan Pacific Perth (207 Adelaide Terrace) from 6-9pm on August 16.

For members of the trade, there is a free 1-5pm champagne tasting session on the same day (registration is required).

Stelzer’s interest and research on champagne, and all things behind the scenes, have enabled him to produce the most interesting and detailed comprehensive 102-page booklet on everything you need to know about champagne in Australia.
