Jour­ney into fash­ion ex­trav­a­ganza Hum­ble spud gets chef makeover

Perth Fash­ion Fes­ti­val 2017 faces Michaela Ben­net and Tea­gan Des­mond will be wear­ing metal­lic in­spired WA and Aus­tralian fash­ion at to­day’s launch at Old Clois­ters.

Ae’lkemi, Rachel Gil­bert, Jonté, One Fell Swoop and Em­pire Rose are among lead­ing de­sign­ers that will fea­ture at the launch this morn­ing.

The theme of this year’s fes­ti­val, spon­sored by Com­mu­nity News­pa­per Group, is ‘Jour­ney With Us’.

Pro­gram high­lights in­clude 30th The Stan­dard head chef Chase We­ber recre­ated the hum­ble potato sev­eral times over to launch WA Pota­toes’ new cam­paign – Toda­toes re­cently.

From lo­cal mus­sels in their shell to warm potato salad, egg yolk, pickle gel and crispy pig’s ear and potato mille-feuille, whisky soft serve with salted caramel cho­co­late ganache, Web­ber had spe­cial guests, in­clud­ing WA Pota­toes chief ex­ec­u­tive Si­mon Moltoni, sali­vat­ing with an­tic­i­pa­tion as each of the five cour­ses were served.
