WHEN: TICK­ETS: DE­SPITE hav­ing lost its base at Hack­ett Hall in Floreat, Playlovers con­tin­ues to sur­vive thanks to the help of The Old Mill The­atre in South Perth.

The com­mu­nity the­atre group will present a sea­son of Jon Robin Baitz’s play Other Desert Cities, which was last per­formed in Perth by Black Swan State The­atre Com­pany in 2013.

Mos­man Park ac­tor Chan­dra Wy­att was in­vited to au­di­tion for the role of re­cov­er­ing al­co­holic aunt Silda Grau­man in the Black Swan pro­duc­tion but was un­able to re­turn from Copen­hagen.

The for­mer pupil of Loreto Con­vent in Clare­mont is de­lighted to get a sec­ond chance.

It is set in 2004, when Amer­i­can opin­ion was split over the de­ci­sion to in­vade Iraq.

Di­rected by Barry Park, Other Desert Cities is on Au­gust 4 to 19.
