COTTESLOE ended their sea­son on a high, belt­ing Kala­munda 52-0 at Hart­field Park.

The Gulls en­tered round 18 need­ing a bonus point vic­tory to have any chance of sneak­ing into the semi fi­nals and de­spite se­cur­ing the bonus point win, As­so­ciates’ vic­tory over Palmyra de­nied Cottesloe fi­nals foot­ball.

Cott opened strongly when scrum half Charl Nieuwen­huis con­verted and took the score to 7-0 in the first 10 min­utes of the game.

Gulls’ No. 6 To­bias Hoskins car­ried strongly to score Cottesloe’s sec­ond try with Nieuwen­huis con­vert­ing to take the score to 14-0 at the 20-minute mark.

Kaisa Reidy scored the Gulls’ third try while Cottesloe hooker John Monk scored the fourth.

The flood gates opened by the 65th minute with an­other con­verted try tak­ing the score­line to 40-0.

Reidy’s sec­ond of the match along with five point­ers from Nieuwen­huis and the com­pe­ti­tion’s top try scorer Ali Hain­ing put an ex­cla­ma­tion mark on a dominating 52-0 vic­tory.
