WA clinch bronze
WA'S Peewee Ice Hockey team, captained by Carine’s Riley Langille, finished with bronze in the WA Ice Hockey Association's U13 Ginsberg Tournament at Perth Ice Arena last month.
Its semi-final against NSW was a grudge match this year because WA beat NSW in the semi final last year and went on to win gold. This year, NSW won the match 10-0.
WA played Queensland in the bronze medal game winning 3-1.
Team manager Dana Chapman, of Wembley, said the bronze medal game was extremely tough.
“The team played such a strong game and the support that we had from parents, family and friends was great to see,” she said. “Of the 16 players, 15 were new to this level competition.”
The competition was won by NSW, with Victoria coming second.
