A STOLEN util­ity was used in an at­tempted ram raid at Smales jew­ellery store, Rokeby Road, about 12.30am on Septem­ber 4.

“CCTV shows it be­ing re­versed on an an­gle when its rear cor­ner was used to try smash se­cu­rity screens,” Sergeant Paul Vo­jkovich said. A man was captured briefly get­ting out of the white ute and in­spect­ing dam­age to the 2013-model Holden Colorado with the regis­tra­tion 1EEK 167, which was taken ear­lier from Armadale, be­fore the ve­hi­cle drove off as the store’s alarm ac­ti­vated. Sgt Vo­jkovich said the ve­hi­cle sus­tained sub­stan­tial dam­age and had not been re­cov­ered late last week.

Po­lice said the women be­came abu­sive and made threats when staff at­tempted to search a hand­bag.

One of the women was de­scribed as dark-skinned, aged in her 30s and wore a white long-sleeved top, light blue jeans and san­dals, with a brown hand­bag over her shoul­der, while hold­ing a green car­rier bag.

Her ac­com­plice was de­scribed as dark-skinned, aged in her 20s and wore a short black sleeved T-shirt and blue leg­gings while car­ry­ing a grey hand­bag.
