Matters taking centre stage

Peppermint Grove Community Survey Community News asked local mayors about the important issues for 2018.

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Front Page - Peppermint Grove president Rachel Thomas. Mosman Park Mayor Brett Pollock.

PEPPERMINT Grove Council has recently conducted a community survey amongst its residents. The survey closed in early December and we will receive analysis and feedback at our February meeting. The results of the survey will be followed up in focus group consultation to provide the council with more detailed expectations and priorities. This information will be used to review and update our strategic community plan which will, in turn, inform and determine the Shire’s long-term financial, asset management and workforce management plans. The Town of Mosman Park is embracing opportunities for higher building density made possible through Local Planning Scheme Number 3. There will be scope for multi-storey dwellings, including six storeys on Glyde and Stuart streets between Monument Street and Stirling Highway, and three storeys on St Leonards Street and Willis Street. We are confident this will deliver exciting new businesses and residential communities, clustered around our Town’s excellent transport links and thriving commercial centres. Providing an overall strategic direction to guide future development, the Town has launched a Let’s Revitalise Mosman Park consultation process that seeks community input to help shape this area into a vibrant and attractive town centre. This whole-of-precinct strategy will ensure that we balance the needs of residents, business owners and visitors in a way that is smart, sustainable and that maintains the vibrancy and beauty of Mosman Park.
