Cottesloe Recreational Activities
Mosman Park Building Density
Cottesloe has recognised a number of opportunities within the Town to upgrade and improve recreational facilities. In 2018 we will focus on achieving this for our community.
The first stage of the Cottesloe Foreshore Renewal will commence early this year. This project will revitalise the foreshore precinct with improved amenities, pedestrian accessibility and the planning of public open spaces. This long-term project will be staged over the next few years. In conjunction with this, an upgrade of beach access paths will also commence this year. Paths will be upgraded on a priority basis over a number of years and different elements of each path (steps, ramps, balustrades, fencing, seating, showers, drink fountains, bike stands, barbecues and paving) will be replaced depending on need.
A feasibility study on a proposed ocean pool in Cottesloe will be undertaken in the coming months.
The Harvey Field precinct has been recognised as a significant opportunity and a site assessment and consultation with the clubs that use the facility was undertaken in 2017. This will be used to form a plan to be taken to the community for consultation this year. In addition to this, the Town’s new reserves, parks and playgrounds committee will be setting a program for the renewal and rejuvenation of Cottesloe reserves, parks and playgrounds. This will include a formal assessment of the potential location of a skate park in the Town.
