TWO local women will represent Australia in the World Flying Disc Federation’s 2018 World U24 Ultimate Championships.
Alicia Lim (21), from Subiaco, and Max Qua (21), from Nedlands, have been handpicked from 230 players who participated in an exhaustive selection process and will join the women’s Stingrays team.
Ultimate Frisbee combines elements of gridiron, netball and touch football in a fastpaced, non-contact sport and all players are required to self-referee.
Under-24 Ultimate Championships tournament director Anna Haynes said teams from across the globe would descend on UWA Sports Park in Mt Claremont this month.
“The Perth world championships is going to be the biggest and best the world has seen to date,” she said.
Lim started playing competitively in Singapore in 2013, but took it up a notch when she moved to Perth in 2015.
Qua said she was hyped to play her best with home ground support.
The tournament will be held from January 7 to 13. For more information, visit www.wu24perth.com/en_au.
