Hop to adopt bunnies
THREE little bunnies are all that remain of Community News and RSPCA WA’S 12 Strays of Christmas campaign.
The campaign, which ran in Community newspapers across Perth, urged readers to adopt one of 12 featured pets from the charity.
Close to 300 abandoned, abused and neglected animals were expected to be in the care of RSPCA WA over the festive season.
And while nine of our featured ‘strays’ found a loving home, three rabbits – Martin, Maureen and Nigel – are still waiting to find a family. The three rabbits are all available from the RSPCA WA adoption centre in Malaga. Call the adoptions team on 9209 9323 or just drop in to the shelter to meet them.
Martin is a four-month-old rabbit who, together with his mum Maureen, is looking for a new home where they can stay together.
Martin’s favourite things in life include the sun, pats, cuddles and playing in hay.
Maureen is litter trained and loves sleeping next to you, so life as an indoor bunny would make her happy.
Nigel is a 16-month-old male rabbit. He has a lovely nature and
enjoys a good pat and a scratch. He seeks the simple things in life, like fresh vegies, pellets and hay.
RSPCA WA executive manager of community engagement Maree Daniels said the holiday period could be an ideal time to take on a pet.
“With many people having more time off work, this provides a great opportunity to help a new pet settle in, spending more time with them and allowing you to bond,” she said.
