COM­MON­WEALTH Games swim­mer Bri­anna Throssell’s dad James Throssell won a Barossa Val­ley hol­i­day at the Com­mon­wealth Games farewell lunch late last month. De­part­ment of Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment, Sport and Cul­tural In­dus­tries Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Dun­can Ord’s ticket was pulled out of the main raf­fle but he do­nated the prize, a Lin­neys neck­lace, back to the event for auc­tion.

It even­tu­ally sold for $3500. The event, or­gan­ised by the Aus­tralian Olympic and Com­mon­wealth Games Team Ap­peal Com­mit­tee - WA raised money for Com­mon­wealth Games ath­letes head­ing to the Gold Coast. Chris­tine Anu wel­comed the 600 guests by per­form­ing My Is­land Home, Emily Lam­bert sang the Na­tional An­them and a leg­ends panel of Ric Charlesworth, Al­lana Slater and Ea­mon Sul­li­van told ath­letes to en­joy the ex­pe­ri­ence and soak up the home town at­mos­phere. The model did re­lax­ation ex­er­cises in the space as me­dia and spe­cial guests toured the new lounge the day be­fore it of­fi­cially opened to pas­sen­gers.

Bodhi J Well­ness Spa Re­treat own­ers Danny and Ta­nia Tay­lor have been in dis­cus­sions with Qan­tas about the well­ness cen­tre, which of­fers Perth to Lon­don Qan­tas Dream­liner pas­sen­gers gen­tle stretch­ing ses­sions and mind­ful­ness and breath aware­ness tech­niques, since Septem­ber last year.

Mr Tay­lor said the 12-15 minute ses­sions would start with sooth­ing aro­matic in­hala­tions and were suit­able for all ages and fit­ness lev­els.
