Red carpet on race day
THIS year’s Perth Racing Prive Fashion Platform has been combined with the launch of Ascot Racing Carnival on October 13.
Guests will indulge in a two-hour canapé and beverage package with an after party following the main event, a runway showcasing local designers including Jessica Bratich, Mitch Johnson by Kinn Apparel , Reign the Label , Brooke Da Cruz, Tania Claire Australia (jewellery), Anita Carr Label (headwear) and Elle et Lui (shoes).
The Ascot Racecourse event will also feature designs by Jonte Pike as her label reveals the new Curator Collection, switching focus from ready to wear to special occasion, race wear, evening and bridal.
“My special occasion wear is very popular and our customers are looking for something unique and beautifully made,” Pike said.
“There are plenty of fast fashion pieces out there, so we want to create unique pieces that can be worn both during the day, to the races or in the evening and then more glamorous pieces that can be worn to a special event or wedding pieces that are both edgy but timeless.”
Pike said her resort bridal collection Jonté Platinum would be launched this summer and embodied femininity, edginess and a hint of an eclectic feel.
“Getting married in October 2017 and creating all the gowns for this occasion ignited a passion for designing and creating resort wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses,” she said.
“After numerous emails about creating bridal gowns based on my evening wear designs, I decided to create a bridal line.”
Not all designs have to be worn as bridal gowns.
“I am focusing on creating styles that could be worn multipurpose across both special occasions and bridal, depending on the wearers’ desire,” Pike said.
This will be the third year for Jonte Designs to feature at Privé Fashion Platform where the fashion designer said she loved the “everyone’s a VIP vibe”.
