Murweh helps out pets

Western Times - - NEWS -

MURWEH Shire Council will share photos of lost animals in the Charleville pound in order to make it easier to reunite a pet and their master.

Founder of Maranoa Animal Rescue Annette Tighe said that many pets wound up being euthanised needlessly simply because their owners don’t know the pound has them.

“The best case scenario is that people who have lost their dog get it back,” she said.

“Second best – some other family adopts it. “Worst case scenario – euthanasia. “Where this has been tried before, the kill rate has gone down.

“People are just going to be so happy.”

There is only one more problem: people have to know where to look.
