BUILDING CHARLEVILLE: Today we continue following the Griffith work team down Watson St in 1954. Notice that they have crossed over the Wills St intersection. As Keith has taken this photo looking downWatson St, a couple of school girls are relaxing on seats under a cedar tree, during lunch break. The school is on the left and Bradley’s Gully crossing is in the background behind the second cedar tree. To the right of the trench on the corner is Vic Calcino’s home service centre shop. Vic was assisted by his mother and later on Pat Byrnes in the office and Cyril McConnell in servicework. Today this corner is occupied by the road house. Next week we will see the workers as their progress is interrupted by a massive flood in the gully.
