Sweatshop workers make r clothes, our furniture comes out of flat-pack box and our cars all look the same. But in the past decade in Australia, there has been a huge growth in the handmade, the locally produced and the artisanal. Is it just a hobby for cashed-up hipsters to buy into, a revolt against mass production and technology, or does the benefit lie in the product itself? Marcus Westbury tries to find out.
