FOOD ON THE MOVE

Western Times - - FRONT PAGE -

BLACKALL Blue Light is on the move thanks to its new mobile catering trailer.

Blackall police, who run the town’s Blue Light Association, were successful in securing the trailer.

The modern and professionally constructed dual-axle trailer is purpose-fitted to manage all potential catering challenges at rural and remote events and there is unlikely to be a similar mobile facility readily available in the Blackall and Tambo communities.

It runs off 240v and gas and is fitted with a full-size fridge, electric stovetop cooking facilities, a deep fryer, pie warmer and hot service options, along with large amounts of bench space and storage capacity.

It has a side awning so customers can be easily served.

Members of local clubs or community members planning on hosting events who think an additional food preparation area or alternative service location would be helpful in running their events are encouraged to access and use the trailer.

The costs involved will be very modest and will usually involve a donation to the Blackall Blue Light Association.

The Blackall Blue Light is a not-for profit committee and will use any funds donated to continue to host events for young people and for the maintenance of the mobile catering trailer.

Any committee or community member who thinks their event or function could be improved by using the catering trailer are encouraged to phone the Blackall police on 4657 4200.
