Opal Festival

Western Times - - NEWS -

YOWAH is hosting its annual opal festival from July 14–16 on Harlequin Dr, Yowah.

The festival will host a number of opal stalls, including rare personal opal collections, as well as fresh food, music and dancing.

The location is fully catered and licensed for the weekend and also provides other attractions such as raffles, special guests, walk-in mine tours and a windlass race. Visitors will also be able to view opals indigenous to the area, with world-class specimens of Yowah nut opal, ironstone matrix opal and Yowah boulder opal on display.

The event is expected to draw international crowds interested in purchasing from a fine collection of the region’s best opals. Located two hours drive from Cunnamulla on a sealed road, all general inquiries about the festival should be directed to Colin Lawry on 07 4655 4060.
