Record break­ing at­tempt

GRANDE Coun­try Car­nivále is giv­ing guests the op­por­tu­nity to be part of a record break­ing at­tempt, en­cour­ag­ing at­ten­dees to take part in long­est sin­gle line dance event dur­ing the mega week­end cel­e­bra­tions.

Or­gan­is­ers are invit­ing all in­di­vid­u­als, groups, schools and or­gan­i­sa­tions to come to­gether to achieve this record break­ing feat for re­gional south west Qld, with the dance to take place at 10.30 am on Oc­to­ber 21.

All par­tic­i­pat­ing groups will be ad­ver­tised, and given the op­tion of wear­ing their branded uni­forms in the dance.

The event will be pho­tographed and filmed by a range of news me­dia.

The mega week­end cel­e­bra­tions are to be held at Bas­sett Park, Roma over the week­end of Oc­to­ber 21-22, with the car­nivále run­ning for a week start­ing Oc­to­ber 16.

If break­ing records isn’t your thing, the mega week­end cel­e­bra­tions also boasts an in­cred­i­ble range of adren­a­line pumped ac­tion, stalls and dis­plays for the whole fam­ily.

The car­nivále week will also bring a packed pro­gram of ac­tiv­i­ties to the Roma com­mu­nity, bring­ing a num­ber of Aussie tal­ents, such as Aus­tralian coun­try mu­sic icon Ta­nia Ker­naghan, sand sculp­tor Den­nis Mas­soud, in­ter­na­tional horse whis­perer Donal Han­cock, and a fea­ture mu­sic per­for­mance by J-L Rathbone, to town.

Tick­ets for the mega week­end cel­e­bra­tions are now avail­able for pur­chase through Eventbrite or by phon­ing 0408 463 976.

A per­cent­age of the ad­mis­sion fee will be do­nated to LifeF­light.
