State school gets a splash of vi­brancy for cross coun­try car­ni­val

CHARLEVILLE State School held its an­nual cross coun­try on Mon­day, but this year with a splash of colour.

The event be­gan in the morn­ing with the com­pet­i­tive cross coun­try car­ni­val, with the colour run bring­ing the colour­ful event to an end.

In the re­sults of the com­pet­i­tive cross coun­try, Mya Richars and Paddy Short won the nine-year-old age group, Gabby Egan and Will Wal­ton won the 10 years, Siara Ma­son and Joseph Sturgess won the 11 year age group and Ge­or­gia Vaggs and Al­lan Brown took out first for the 12 year-old age group.

Af­ter lunch stu­dents took part in the whole-school colour run, where all stu­dents ran through a rain­bow of colour sta­tions over a 1km track, be­fore en­joy­ing a sausage siz­zle pro­vided by the P and C.

“It was an­other suc­cess­ful event this year, our sec­ond year run­ning the colour run along­side our cross coun­try event, with huge thanks to our spon­sors, and we look for­ward to mak­ing it an even big­ger suc­cess next year,” Charleville State School PE teacher Katie Lewis said.
