SCHOOL LETS COLOUR SHINE
State school gets a splash of vibrancy for cross country carnival
CHARLEVILLE State School held its annual cross country on Monday, but this year with a splash of colour.
The event began in the morning with the competitive cross country carnival, with the colour run bringing the colourful event to an end.
In the results of the competitive cross country, Mya Richars and Paddy Short won the nine-year-old age group, Gabby Egan and Will Walton won the 10 years, Siara Mason and Joseph Sturgess won the 11 year age group and Georgia Vaggs and Allan Brown took out first for the 12 year-old age group.
After lunch students took part in the whole-school colour run, where all students ran through a rainbow of colour stations over a 1km track, before enjoying a sausage sizzle provided by the P and C.
“It was another successful event this year, our second year running the colour run alongside our cross country event, with huge thanks to our sponsors, and we look forward to making it an even bigger success next year,” Charleville State School PE teacher Katie Lewis said.
