Com­mu­nity plant­ing day

HELP plant 750 wet­land plants along the river bank in just one morn­ing.

The re-veg­e­ta­tion of the bank will help re­duce ero­sion, im­prove water qual­ity and sus­tain the bio­di­ver­sity of this valu­able nat­u­ral as­set.

The day will in­clude a talk on the en­vi­ron­men­tal values of the water­hole, a launch of the Plan of Man­age­ment, a sausage siz­zle pro­vided by Charleville Fish­ing and Re­stock­ing Club and lots of en­thu­si­asm.

Miss Show­girl bowls day

JOIN Miss Show­girl en­trant Demmi Roberts this Satur­day for a day on the green.

The event will be held at the Charleville Bowls Club, where teams of four can play a game of bare­foot bowls.

Team reg­is­tra­tions is only $40, with all pro­ceeds go­ing to the Charleville and District Show So­ci­ety.

Through­out the day multi-draw raf­fles will be up for grabs and a prize for the best dressed team.

Be sure to go along for an af­ter­noon of fun and dance late into the night.

Out­back bat chat

JOIN Miss Show­girl en­trant Suzie Berry on Satur­day evening for a night of bat fun.

The gold coin en­try event will in­clude free damper, bat-face paint­ing, arts and crafts and a echo-raf­fle.

Those who at­tend will have the op­por­tu­nity to dec­o­rate a bat house to be placed along the Ward River and go on a bat-spot­ting walk through the mulga.

In aid of the Charleville Show­girl en­trant, Suzie Berry, with the sup­port of the Aus­tralasian Bat So­ci­ety, all pro­ceeds raised will go to the Charleville and District Show So­ci­ety.

Soft­ball com­pe­ti­tion

CHARLEVILLE Soft­ball As­so­ci­a­tion will go head to head against the Quilpie Mas­ters Soft­ball team this week­end.

The game will swing off at 1pm on Sun­day at the Charleville Showgrounds.

Quilpie Mas­ters are trav­el­ling to Charleville for the oc­ca­sion, so be sure to go and sup­port the Charleville team as they hit it out of the park. WHEN: Sun­day, April 29, 1pm WHERE: Charleville Showgrounds
