THE town is in countdown mode as we approach this year’s Charleville Show, set for May 18–20.
Join in all the action from Friday when the pavilion will be open so visitors can see all the best cooking, artwork and photographs on display. Continue the festivities that evening at sideshow alley and give the rides a whirl.
On Saturday, show-goers can enjoy an afternoon at the races, with a five-race program, fashions on the field and plenty of fun on the agenda.
Finish the evening off with the rodeo from 6pm.

World record attempt
JOIN the Charleville Cosmos Centre for an evening of excitement as the team attempts to break a Guinness World Record.
The free community event will include a live screening of Stargazing Live with Brian Cox.
The Cosmos Centre is trying to set a new Guinness World Record for the most people to stargaze at one time, across multiple venues.
For this record, the participants will stargaze at the moon through a telescope or binoculars for a 10-minute period simultaneously across multiple sites throughout Australia.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 23, 8pm.
WHERE: Charleville Cosmos Centre.
HEAD along to the annual Halfway There Shindig Street Party.
There will be lots of live music, markets, food and fun on offer.
If you are heading to the Big Red Bash and are looking for a halfway stop, stay overnight in Charleville and enjoy a rest as well as the festivities of the street party. WHEN: Friday, July 6. WHERE: Corner of Wills and Alfred Sts, Charleville.
Big birthday bash
AS THE saying goes, go big or go home and that is exactly what Charleville will do when it celebrating its 150 years and the Bilby Festival.
Festivities will include multicultural food stalls, a street parade , Charleville’s Big Birthday and the Bilby Ball. WHEN: September 6–9. WHERE: Charleville.
