Charleville Show

THE town is in countdown mode as we ap­proach this year’s Charleville Show, set for May 18–20.

Join in all the ac­tion from Fri­day when the pavil­ion will be open so vis­i­tors can see all the best cooking, art­work and pho­to­graphs on dis­play. Con­tinue the fes­tiv­i­ties that evening at sideshow al­ley and give the rides a whirl.

On Satur­day, show-go­ers can en­joy an af­ter­noon at the races, with a five-race pro­gram, fash­ions on the field and plenty of fun on the agenda.

Fin­ish the evening off with the rodeo from 6pm.

WHEN: Fri­day, May 18, to Sun­day, May 20.

WHERE: Charleville Show­grounds.

World record at­tempt

JOIN the Charleville Cos­mos Cen­tre for an evening of ex­cite­ment as the team at­tempts to break a Guin­ness World Record.

The free com­mu­nity event will in­clude a live screen­ing of Stargaz­ing Live with Brian Cox.

The Cos­mos Cen­tre is try­ing to set a new Guin­ness World Record for the most peo­ple to stargaze at one time, across mul­ti­ple venues.

For this record, the par­tic­i­pants will stargaze at the moon through a tele­scope or binoc­u­lars for a 10-minute pe­riod si­mul­ta­ne­ously across mul­ti­ple sites through­out Australia.

WHEN: Wed­nes­day, May 23, 8pm.

WHERE: Charleville Cos­mos Cen­tre.

Street party

HEAD along to the an­nual Halfway There Shindig Street Party.

There will be lots of live mu­sic, mar­kets, food and fun on of­fer.

If you are head­ing to the Big Red Bash and are look­ing for a halfway stop, stay overnight in Charleville and en­joy a rest as well as the fes­tiv­i­ties of the street party. WHEN: Fri­day, July 6. WHERE: Cor­ner of Wills and Al­fred Sts, Charleville.

Big birth­day bash

AS THE say­ing goes, go big or go home and that is ex­actly what Charleville will do when it cel­e­brat­ing its 150 years and the Bilby Fes­ti­val.

Fes­tiv­i­ties will in­clude mul­ti­cul­tural food stalls, a street pa­rade , Charleville’s Big Birth­day and the Bilby Ball. WHEN: Septem­ber 6–9. WHERE: Charleville.
