POLICE were called to Bungil Creek on Sunday morning after a car was found bogged in the water.
At 7.47am police located the 2000 red Volkswagen Golf stuck in Bungil Creek near the intersection of Arthur and George streets .
An 18-year-old probationary driver from Yuleba inside the vehicle was taken to Roma Police Station.
Acting Senior-Sergeant Chris Keenan said the incident involved a drink-driving offence and was believed to have happened in the early hours of Sunday.
“A further breath test at 11am indicated the driver had a blood-alcohol reading of 0.11, which is double the (full licence) legal limit,” Sgt Keenan said.
The teenaged driver appeared in Roma Magistrates Court on Wednesday as police continued to investigate.
