School Cen­te­nary

FORMER stu­dents of Quilpie State Col­lege are cor­dially in­vited to it’s cen­te­nary cel­e­bra­tion din­ner, which is just over a week away.

The smart-ca­sual event will fea­ture a buf­fet meal in the pic­turesque Bul­loo Park for a stel­lar re­union and party.

Pro­ceed­ings be­gin at 6.30pm; put the date in the cal­en­dar.

High Tea

AUGATHELLA will be the lo­ca­tion for the classi­est garden party in the west, when the town’s Iso­lated Childen’s Par­ents’ As­so­ci­a­tion branch hosts a High Tea Garden Party.

Fundrais­ing for their group, the morn­ing tea/lunch will have a bar on hand, and bou­tiques from around the re­gion sell­ing their gor­geous wares.

There will also be a guest speaker, ICPA state coun­cil­lor, Louise Win­ten, who is from (some­what) nearby An­gel­lala Downs.

The High Tea Garden Party is sure to be a glam­orous event. WHEN: Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 13. WHERE: El­lan­gowan Sta­tion, 258484 Bid­den­ham Road, Augathella.

Pride of the West

IT’S that time of year: Quilpie Dig­gers Race Club is host­ing the an­nual Pride of the West fes­ti­val, cel­e­brat­ing ev­ery­thing syn­ony­mous with coun­try life.

Two-handed cut­ting, stock horse sprints and a Sta­tion Chal­lenge are all on the cards, as well as a re­turn to part of the orig­i­nal for­mat with a single race day.

A whole host of other quirky events are on the pro­gram, and POTW is sure to be the best fes­ti­val in town. WHEN: Satur­day: Septem­ber 29. WHERE: Bul­loo Park, Quilpie.

Who you gonna call?

CARP BUSTERS be­gins to­mor­row in Charleville, and is set to be a huge event for keen an­glers.

The three day fish­ing ex­trav­a­ganza is an af­ford­able fam­ily week­end, with en­try rang­ing from $5 to $20 for the whole event.

Get out on the wa­ter and ex­plore the hun­dreds of square kilo­me­ters of prime fish­ing area.

Race and re­union

HISTORIC foot­ball club the Charleville All Whites RLFC are host­ing a race day to re­mem­ber as part of the club’s re­union.

With free en­try, the race day will be one of the best value days out in town.

Later in the evening, All Whites are putting on a spread with their semi-for­mal re­union din­ner.

Tick­ets are still avail­able for an­other week, but get in quick, be­cause they do need to be pre-pur­chased.
