Free con­certs and vol­un­teers to help Mur­weh shire

CON­NECT­ING Com­mu­ni­ties Aus­tralia and mu­si­cian To­bias are tak­ing a team of 25 vol­un­teers to work on farms around Charleville from Septem­ber 30 to Oc­to­ber 6.

Glenn Price, To­bias, Nikki Fog­den-Moore (the Mojo Maker) and 25 Con­nect­ing Com­mu­ni­ties Aus­tralia vol­un­teers will travel from as far away as Syd­ney and Bris­bane to ren­o­vate fences, farm build­ings, pro­vide on-the-ground sup­port and much-needed prac­ti­cal work where re­sources are so low.

Shar­ing sto­ries, cap­tur­ing con­tent to raise aware­ness and de­liv­er­ing much-needed hands-on work, the week will cul­mi­nate with a con­cert head­lined by To­bias in Charleville for all the com­mu­nity.

The Con­nect­ing Com­mu­ni­ties Aus­tralia pro­gram is about help­ing farm­ers with prac­ti­cal as­sis­tance on the farm, while pro­vid­ing ac­cess to men­tal health pro­grams and lift­ing their spir­its through the pro­vi­sion of com­mu­nity events.

The vol­un­teers will be on farms from Oc­to­ber 1 to Oc­to­ber 5.

■ Oc­to­ber 3: Gidgee’s Bush Camp.

■ Oc­to­ber 5: Ho­tel Corones.
