Beefing up Queensland
MEAT and Livestock Australia has announced its upcoming BeefUp forum will be held in Mundubbera later this month.
It will be presenting the latest findings on pasture dieback and the impact on producers, and the MLA is seeking direct input from producers to help drive future research.
The BeefUp forum will be at Mundubbera Community Hall on October 17.
Small town bookies benefit
TAX changes in the betting industry, which came into play over the weekend, will work to the benefit of country bookmakers, according to Racing Minister Stirling Hinchliffe. With point of consumption revenue now being taxed in-state, a significant portion has been promised to small bookies.
“We know that country racing is the lifeblood of country towns, which is why we have committed more than $70 million over four years to country racing,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
Health board positions open
COMMUNITY leaders are urged to apply for upcoming Hospital and Health Board positions in their local regions. There were a number of job vacancies across the state.
