Western Times - - LIFE | TV GUIDE -

Tuesday, go!, 7.30pm, PG (1995)

This teen classic of the ‘90s, based on Jane Austen’s Emma, is a sharp and very funny satire. As prissy 16-year-old Cher, the delectable Alicia Silverstone (pictured) takes a grand tour of selfdiscovery beneath the shallow surface of Beverly Hills superficiality and finds there’s more to life than facials, BMWs and silicone. Cher provides us with the perfect antidote to the world of celebrityobsessed vacuousness, lightheartedly analysing the falsehood that surrounds her, with wit, charm and the cutest smirk since the 20-something Shirley MacLaine.
