Leahy looks into hospital problems
WARREGO MP Ann Leahy has gone in to bat for staff at Dalby Hospital, approaching Health Minister Steven Miles.
Ms Leahy has requested Dr Miles disclose to her the Occupational, Health and Safety records of all hospitals in the Darling Downs and south-west Queensland for the past 12 months, in response to a security problem at the hospital.
She spoke on the issue during her speech to parliament on September 19.
The move follows the
Dalby Herald’s exclusive report in August which detailed the lack of security at the hospital.
“I took the opportunity to visit the Dalby Hospital to familiarise myself with the services and the layout of the hospital and the age of the infrastructure,” Ms Leahy said.
“I have had people talk to me about their concerns for staff safety at the hospital, some formally and some informally.”
