Leahy looks into hospi­tal prob­lems

WAR­REGO MP Ann Leahy has gone in to bat for staff at Dalby Hospi­tal, ap­proach­ing Health Min­is­ter Steven Miles.

Ms Leahy has re­quested Dr Miles dis­close to her the Oc­cu­pa­tional, Health and Safety records of all hos­pi­tals in the Dar­ling Downs and south-west Queens­land for the past 12 months, in re­sponse to a se­cu­rity prob­lem at the hospi­tal.

She spoke on the is­sue dur­ing her speech to par­lia­ment on Septem­ber 19.

The move fol­lows the

Dalby Her­ald’s ex­clu­sive re­port in Au­gust which de­tailed the lack of se­cu­rity at the hospi­tal.

“I took the op­por­tu­nity to visit the Dalby Hospi­tal to fa­mil­iarise my­self with the ser­vices and the lay­out of the hospi­tal and the age of the in­fra­struc­ture,” Ms Leahy said.

“I have had peo­ple talk to me about their con­cerns for staff safety at the hospi­tal, some for­mally and some in­for­mally.”
