From Broadway to Brisbane, Liz Callaway is performing at QPAC for two nights only. A Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer and recording artist, Liz made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” and received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in “Baby”. For five years, Liz won acclaim as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” and starred as Ellen in the original Broadway cast of “Miss Saigon”. Liz has also established a major career as a concert and recording artist. Accompanied by her Musical Director and pianist Alex Rybeck, Liz Callaway presents an evening of songs from Broadway musicals and her various recordings.
In an Australian exclusive, “Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum” is showing at Queensland Museum. The exhibition features more than 110 original artefacts including pieces of the Colosseum, authentic elaborately decorated bronze gladiator helmets and original arms and armour preserved in the ashes of Pompeii. In this very rare and unique opportunity, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the everyday lives of Ancient Roman Gladiators with interactive games and displays that reveal who gladiators were, where they lived and how they trained.
