From Broad­way to Bris­bane, Liz Call­away is per­form­ing at QPAC for two nights only. A Tony nom­i­nee and Emmy Award-win­ning ac­tress, singer and record­ing artist, Liz made her Broad­way de­but in Stephen Sond­heim’s “Mer­rily We Roll Along” and re­ceived a Tony Award nom­i­na­tion for her per­for­mance in “Baby”. For five years, Liz won ac­claim as Griz­abella in An­drew Lloyd Web­ber’s “Cats” and starred as Ellen in the orig­i­nal Broad­way cast of “Miss Saigon”. Liz has also es­tab­lished a ma­jor ca­reer as a con­cert and record­ing artist. Ac­com­pa­nied by her Mu­si­cal Direc­tor and pi­anist Alex Ry­beck, Liz Call­away presents an evening of songs from Broad­way musicals and her var­i­ous record­ings.

In an Aus­tralian ex­clu­sive, “Gla­di­a­tors: He­roes of the Colos­seum” is show­ing at Queens­land Mu­seum. The ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tures more than 110 orig­i­nal arte­facts in­clud­ing pieces of the Colos­seum, au­then­tic elab­o­rately dec­o­rated bronze glad­i­a­tor hel­mets and orig­i­nal arms and ar­mour pre­served in the ashes of Pom­peii. In this very rare and unique op­por­tu­nity, vis­i­tors will be able to im­merse them­selves in the ev­ery­day lives of An­cient Ro­man Gla­di­a­tors with in­ter­ac­tive games and dis­plays that re­veal who gla­di­a­tors were, where they lived and how they trained.
