Australia has fallen head over heels for the heart-warming new musical “Kinky Boots”. Based on the movie starring Joel Edgerton and inspired by a true story, “Kinky Boots” takes the audience on a hilarious journey from a working-class shoe factory to the runways of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to save the family shoe business and live up to his father’s expectations. Determined to keep the factory from bankruptcy, Charlie meets a fashionable new friend who gives him an outrageous idea that could change both of their destinies.

Doo-bop Jazz Bar has a number of impressive acts not to be missed this month. From the James Morrison Academy in their fourth year, the Mount Gambier Allstars bring you your Wednesday night fix of world-class smooth jazz tunes (4 Oct). As unpredictable as he is mischievous, experience the rare opportunity to hear the Joe Chindamo Trio perform magic tunes chosen from the American Song Book, with Helen Svoboda on bass and Joe Marchisella on drums (15 Oct), while Sydney-based Frances Madden & Band: Jazz, Blues & Classics Show (27 Oct) will be performing a mix of jazz, blues and ballads including some of her original tunes together with their interpretation of timeless classics.
