The much loved mu­si­cal “My Fair Lady”, di­rected by stage and screen leg­end Julie Andrews, opens in Bris­bane this month. The Cin­derella story about the cock­ney flower girl Eliza Doolittle and the ap­peal­ingly ar­ro­gant pho­neti­cist, Henry Hig­gins, is an en­dear­ing tale that charms au­di­ences with its warmth and vivid char­ac­ters. Head­lin­ing the com­pany is ac­claimed the­atre, film, and tele­vi­sion ac­tor Charles Edwards (“Down­ton Abbey”), as Henry Hig­gins and the young Aus­tralian star, Anna O’byrne, as Eliza Doolittle. Join­ing them is an out­stand­ing cast. Reg Liver­more will play the role of Al­fred P. Doolittle. Robyn Nevin will play Mrs. Hig­gins and Mark Vin­cent will play Freddy. The role of Colonel Pick­er­ing will be played by Tony Llewellyn-jones and Dei­dre Rubenstein will play Mrs. Pearce.
