World Sci­ence Fes­ti­val Bris­bane is an an­nual cel­e­bra­tion of sci­ence, tech­nol­ogy, en­gi­neer­ing, maths and the arts held in Bris­bane’s Cul­tural Precinct. In 2017 the fes­ti­val will wel­come sci­en­tists and thoughtlead­ers from around the world. These in­clude philoso­pher and au­thor Pro­fes­sor AC Grayling, creator of the Laser In­ter­fer­om­e­ter Grav­i­ta­tional-wave Ob­ser­va­tory (LIGO), Sci­en­tific Col­lab­o­ra­tion Pro­fes­sor Barry Bar­ish and Sci­en­tist in Charge at The Met­ro­pol­i­tan Mu­seum of Art in New York Marco Leona. Join renowned sci­ence per­son­al­ity Dr Karl Kruszel­nicki as he in­ves­ti­gates the real sci­ence be­hind some of the mys­ter­ies of life. South Bank Park­lands will turn into a sci­ence play­ground with more than 40 free im­mer­sive events for fam­i­lies to en­joy in “Street Sci­ence!”. Taxi­der­mist for the Queens­land Mu­seum Net­work Ali­son Douglas un­locks the se­crets be­hind this age-old tra­di­tion in “Let’s Talk Taxi­dermy”.
