It’s Chi­nese New Year time and to cel­e­brate Melbourne is in the midst of a colour­ful 17-day fes­ti­val. Light­ing in­stal­la­tions, cul­tural per­for­mances, food ex­pe­ri­ences and dragon boat tri­als are amongst the many ac­tiv­i­ties be­ing held at numer­ous lo­ca­tions around the city. There are ac­ti­va­tions at Queens­bridge Square, il­lu­mi­na­tions and ac­tiv­i­ties at Dock­lands, per­for­mances at Melbourne Con­ven­tion and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre and a Chi­nese New Year con­cert by the Chi­nese Mu­sic Or­ches­tra at Melbourne Recital Cen­tre. Events are also be­ing held at Queen Victoria Mar­ket, Em­po­rium Melbourne, Fed­er­a­tion Square, the Chi­nese Mu­seum/chi­na­town, Melbourne Zoo, Eu­reka Sky­deck, Yarra River/south­gate and DFO South Wharf.
