Where Melbourne - - News - Roshan Sukhla Publishing Editor

Melbourne shines in October with world-class events all month long.

The Spring Racing Carnival has well and truly kicked off with a bang. There are magnificent racing meets on this month including Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Day, the $3.15 million BMW Caulfield Cup and the Cox Plate Carnival (page 12).

Jenny Burns delves into this year’s mighty Melbourne Festival program. From modern dance and dynamic theatre, to contemporary music and visual arts, Melbourne Festival has something for everyone (page 14).

Our cover this month features Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of Noël Coward’s “Hay Fever” (page 22). The cast includes the brilliant Marina Prior, Gareth Davies, Marg Downey and Simon Gleeson. We caught up with Marg Downey to discuss her role and joy at working with the MTC (page 8).

Turn to the Where Now feature (page 18) for October’s must-see exhibitions and performances including “The Bodyguard” musical, Toorak Village Art Walk and “Romancing the Skull” at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

However you choose to spend your time here in Melbourne, we hope you have a pleasant stay!
