WELCOME TO SYDNEY

Where Sydney - - News - Roshan Sukhla Editor

The weather might be cooling down, but June is heating up with so many festivals and events.

The city shines bright for Vivid Sydney until 17 June. Light installations, live music and ideas are the centrepieces of the festival. We look at five must-do experiences for this year’s festival (page 16).

The 64th Sydney Film Festival is on this month. It offers moviegoers a chance to see cinematic releases from all over the world in a variety of formats, genres and languages. The program is huge and there is something for everyone (page 10).

We speak to soprano Julie Lea Goodwin, about her lead role in Opera Australia’s new musical “Two Weddings, One Bride” (page 8). She plays identical twin girls Girofla and Giroflé, in this comedic must-see show.

Turn to the Where Now feature (page 12) for June’s must-see shows, exhibitions and performances. Enjoy world-class events like the “The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes” at the Powerhouse Museum, “The Bodyguard” musical and “Kinky Boots”.

However you choose to spend your time here, we hope you enjoy your stay in idyllic Sydney!
