Les Clefs d’or
THE END OF WINTER and beginning of spring is a very busy time for our members and Sydney concierge. There are many great events in Sydney during this time and with the start of the warm weather the city has some great outdoor experiences that come back to life.
At the end of August Les Clefs d’or members and fellow concierge gathered together for the annual Sydney Concierge Tourism Expo, this year held onboard a vessel moored at Barangaroo, thanks to our good friends at Captain Cook Cruises. This great annual event gives concierge an opportunity to meet new suppliers and catch up with industry friends.
Plans are well underway for the 2017 Sydney Concierge and Hospitality Ball, which this year will be held on Sunday 15 October at the Hilton Sydney. The theme this year is ‘Welcome to Television’ where we celebrate 60 years of TV in Australia. As well as being an industry night, this event also raises much needed funds for St. Anthony’s Family Care, our nominated charity. St Anthony’s is a small not for profit organisation which works to carry out the mission of Saint Mary of the Cross Mackillop in caring for children and families in need. Tickets are currently on sale at stickytickets.com.au/53623
August has also seen some major events for several of our members. Firstly, we must congratulate Jonathan Fambart of Park Hyatt Sydney, and Jason Aberin of the Hilton Sydney, and their wives as they welcome new babies into their family.
Finally, at the end of August we all gathered to celebrate the retirement of our good friend Ron Greedy of The Westin Sydney. After over 22 years as a member of Les Clefs d’or Australia Ron will have more time to focus on his other great passions. We thank Ron for all his hard work and contributions, and wish him well for the future.
