Opera Aus­tralia presents a num­ber of world-class pro­duc­tions this month.

The ex­cit­ing “Two Wed­dings, One Bride” is set in the ex­otic sur­rounds of Morocco and tells the tale of a Gov­er­nor who finds him­self in a lit­tle too deep with money trou­ble, but mar­ry­ing off his twin daugh­ters to just the right suit­ors could save his ba­con. Mu­si­cal di­rec­tor Robert An­drew Greene has drawn on the win­ning for­mula of com­bin­ing mu­si­cal great­est hits with a quirky and en­ter­tain­ing story. Star­ring so­prano Zoe Drum­mond as Giroflé/girofla, cel­e­brated bari­tones An­drew Jones and John Bolton Wood and theatre roy­alty Geral­dine Turner.

Opera Aus­tralia bids farewell to one of the most loved pro­duc­tions in its his­tory, Mof­fatt Ox­en­bould’s mag­nif­i­cent “Madama But­ter­fly”, with a fi­nal two-week sea­son at the Capi­tol Theatre. De­signed around silk, fire, wa­ter and wood, Ox­en­bould’s leg­endary pro­duc­tion will fea­ture cel­e­brated South Korean so­prano Karah Son mak­ing her Aus­tralian de­but as Cio-cio-san.
