Katha­rina Grosse’s Epic In­stal­la­tion at Car­riage­works

Marvel at the splen­dour of the new epic colour­ful in­stal­la­tion at Car­riage­works. The ma­jor new com­mis­sion is by renowned Ger­man artist Katha­rina Grosse. Ti­tled “The Horse Trot­ted An­other Cou­ple of Me­tres, Then it Stopped”, the in­stal­la­tion is more than 8,250 square me­tres of sus­pended fab­ric—draped, knot­ted and hung across and through the ar­chi­tec­tural el­e­ments of the build­ing—us­ing a pal­ette of raw colour to cre­ate a vast paint­ing over the lay­ers of folds. It is free to en­ter and vis­i­tors can see and ex­pe­ri­ence the trans­for­ma­tion of Car­riage­works his­toric struc­ture.
