A new Basque-in­spired restau­rant comes to Surry Hills.

ORTZI RE­CENTLY OPENED in Surry Hills, fea­tur­ing a mix of tra­di­tional and Basque-in­spired pin­txos on their shared­con­cept menu, re­flect­ing the flavours of the Basque re­gion in Spain. Try dishes like the wood­fired rib-eye served with charred onions and romesco, a clas­sic dish served within cider houses in the Basque re­gion, is a go-to dish; or the Holm­brae chicken with radic­chio, pa­prika and yo­ghurt, pork shoul­der cooked in cider with wood-roasted ap­ples and charred leek, saf­fron and curd tart. For drinks try their flat cider, or choose from the wine list with North­ern Spain/south­ern French in­flu­ences. The restau­rant is split over two lev­els with off-white walls and con­crete floor­ing bal­anced with a rus­tic homely feel.
