Runners keen for inaugural festival in Airlie Beach
REGISTRATIONS are now pouring in for the inaugural Airlie Beach Running Festival to be held on July 20-21.
Anyone interested in the event should aim to register soon as the early bird registration discount closes on June 30 and after that date you will pay more and may not be guaranteed a free event singlet.
There is still time to train for the half marathon, either as an individual or as a three person team (7km each).
Local businesses are encouraged to get involved in the Business Team Challenge.
The 10km is always a favourite, but the Fitness Venue 5km Fun Run is attracting a large number of both locals and visitors with many training for their first 5km race.
Mothers are also encouraged to get involved and enjoy a run along the Bicentennial Walkway while pushing strollers.
The free Run on Water run- ning seminar will take place on Saturday afternoon with guest speakers Trevor Vardy and Pat Carroll sure to attract good numbers.
All are welcome to the seminar, you don’t have to be registered to come along.
If you want to be part of this great event, either as a participant or a volunteer, all event information and registration are available at www.whitsundayrunningclub.com.au or by calling Wendy Downes on 0418 768 493.
