RAY White and Whitsunday Food Service took out their respective grand finals on Monday night as the Whitsunday Touch Association’s (WTA) first season drew to a close.

After a run of grand final losses to Focus on Us in recent times Ray White got the better of their old rivals with an exciting 6-3 win.

Focus on Us opened the scoring but Ray White hit back through tries to veteran Peter Chengody and his son Justin.

Ray White pushed the lead to three and hung on in the second half to score a memorable 6-3 win in the season decider.

In B grade Whitsunday Food continued their stellar season with a solid 5-3 win over Eclipse.

A strong start helped Whitsunday Food build an early lead and they were able to hold on despite a vastly-improved second half from Eclipse.

All teams will enjoy a brief off-season before the competition kicks off again in three weeks time.
