Local Telstra customers affected by mobile outage
AN UNAUTHORISED interference left many Telstra mobile customers in Cannonvale and Jubilee Pocket with limited mobile services on Monday.
A Telstra spokesperson said Telstra found the interference to the network on Monday and due to its pattern, suspected it may have been the result of an unauthorised mobile signal repeater in the area.
“Our network team tracked this down to a boat in the area on Tuesday... and we requested the owners turn the device off and they obliged,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said Telstra reminded the community that the use of unauthorised repeaters was illegal and could cause interference with the mobile network, which impacted on the wider community.
