Do not call

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

IT NEVER ceases to amaze me why, with all the warnings of phone scams, that charities continue to phone people to donate to their worthy cause. I never donate over the phone as I do not know who is on the other end supposedly collecting for a worthwhile cause.

It doesn't matter if you are on the Do Not Call Register, or have a silent number, they still continually bombard you with their pleas for donations.

So far this week I have had two organisations asking for donations, maybe they are reputable, but their identification cannot be seen through the phone line.

So please, don't ring people for donations, door knock or rattle your tin in shopping centres instead. Helen Worsley Proserpine
