French Affair with fashion and food
BLACKBIRD Boutique will be launching its latest collection of vibrant summer styles at Deja Vu Restaurant’s A French Affair fashion, art and food show on Saturday July, 13.
Owner of Blackbird Boutique Bridgette Middleton said the fashion parade was the perfect opportunity to show the community what the women’s boutique was all about prior to the store’s official opening on July 18.
“This year we are showcasing what is coming and it will feature an entire range of new summer styles that no one has seen yet,” she said excitedly.
Co-owner of Deja Vu Restaurant Sarah Duverjer said she was looking forward to making the event an absolute success with the help of Blackbird Boutique.
“Over the years we have approached many fashion houses and it can be a very stressful event but Bridgette is one of those women who is always enthusiastic, passion- ate and up to the challenge,” she said.
“Her clothing really fits our Montmartre theme, particularly the Wyse range which is fantastic for layering and mixing colours.”
Ms Middleton said her latest range of clothing will feature jewellery from Amazing Place and is looking forward to seeing it come together in one beautiful evening.
A $300 gift voucher for one of the boutique’s effortlessly stylish labels, Wyse, will also be awarded to the best dressed guest on the night.
A French Affaire is a cocktail event which will have ranges of French inspired dips, cheese boards, canapés, traditional ragouts and desserts available for guests.
Local musician John Garland will be performing a range of French classics infused with his characteristic jazz style and local artists Suzi Hancock and sculptor Dot Smith will also have a number of exquisite works on display.
