Town meeting for new Chamber of Commerce
THE Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce is inviting all local business people to attend a public meeting on Thursday July 11 at the Airlie Beach Hotel.
At the meeting, the chamber’s interim management committee will be sharing a detailed update on the progress made to date as well as welcoming any suggestions from the business community on ideas to help shape the region.
For the past month, the interim management committee has been meeting weekly to discuss issues and objectives affecting the local business community.
The committee has also been working with the regional manager of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) Victoria Bradshaw. CCIQ is providing assistance with the formation of the chamber and compiling its documents of incorporation under the Associations Incorporation Act. The constitution and general policies and procedures of CCIQ have been adopted and filed with the application.
A special application has been made for the use of the name “Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce”.
All documents were posted to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), with the appropriate fee on June 14.
Once the application has been accepted, the chamber will move to open a bank account and apply for a Tax File Number and ABN.
Thursday’s meeting will be held at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. Attendees are advised to report to reception and they will then be directed to the meeting room. Business people who cannot attend this meeting but would like to be added to the Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce email list should contact email@example.com or phone interim president Heidi Ward on
