Tennis lessons to start up again after school break
TENNIS will return to full speed once school resumes next week.
Coaching will hit off on Monday, July 8 and the junior social afternoon fixtures resume Monday, July 15.
All cardio sessions will recommence at their usual times – Tuesday at 9am and 6pm, Thursday at 6pm and Friday at 9am.
Club president Lesley Nolan said she hoped even more people would get involved with the sport.
“This is a great time of year to start off your tennis experience. You don’t need to know how to play, just be able to hold a racquet and it is a wonderful way to meet people,” she said.
Those involved with cardio are enjoying the entire experience and have been joining in with one of the social tennis afternoon and evenings.
The tennis courts and surrounds are looking fantastic with some running repairs completed over the school holidays.
Adult social tennis has been running at its usual steady rate.
The club thanked Rick Galea who looks after players on Tuesday nights and John West who is the Saturday afternoon co-ordinator.
Thursday night therewas a very hotly contested doubles match with an exhausted Norm Hold and Ryan Cheetham grabbing the win.
Thursday night is looking for a few more faces to swell its ranks.
Coaches Jenny and Jamie Kirkman have returned from another successful tennis trip to the United States and are as keen as ever to pass on their knowledge to their pupils.
The junior development series round robin will be held at Proserpine from July 13-14 and names need to be registered with www.tennisnorth.com.au.au by July 7. For information on coaching, social tennis, cardio tennis or court hire contact Jenny Kirkman on 0418 866 808.
