State’s best rid­ers com­pete in Proser­pine

THE Can­non­va­l­ley Pony Club suc­cess­fully hosted the Pony Club As­so­ci­a­tion of Queens­land 2013 dressage and com­bined train­ing cham­pi­onship on the week­end.

The event show­cased 173 top Queens­land ju­nior rid­ers in­clud­ing 22 lo­cal rid­ers and oth­ers from all over the state.

They com­peted for the pres­ti­gious Ma­roon Rug and were judged by top of­fi­cials from Bris­bane as some of the best in the state.

Eliza Sav­age from Bowen was at the top as she and her beau­ti­ful black mare dom­i­nated her group and earned a place in the QLD state dressage team.

Many oth­ers in­clud­ing Melissa La­mont, Baylee Evans, Holly Watts and Ge­orgina Lee, Tori Mans­field and Sarah Dobe fin­ished in the top five in the state.

All com­peti­tors en­joyed the beau­ti­ful weather and the won­der­ful fa­cil­i­ties at the show grounds as well as loving the lo­cal at­trac­tions and the friendly at­mos­phere.

It was a mam­moth ef­fort by the Can­non­va­l­ley Pony Club to host such a pres­ti­gious event and the club con­grat­u­lated ev­ery­one in­volved.

STATE TI­TLES: Tori Mans­field on Ol­lie, Merle Niesler, Tracey Davies and Kate Purvis at the Pony Club As­so­ci­a­tion of Queens­land state ti­tles in Proser­pine on the week­end.

CLEAR­ING THE BAR: Can­non­va­l­ley Pony Club rider Danielle Zwynen­burg com­peted in the 80cm state show jumping event on Sun­day with her horse Tanaker Jake 3.

GREAT TEAM: Mel La­mont and her beloved horse MJ Clas­sic com­peted in the Pony Club As­so­ci­a­tion of Queens­land state ti­tles in Proser­pine on the week­end.
