State’s best riders compete in Proserpine
THE Cannonvalley Pony Club successfully hosted the Pony Club Association of Queensland 2013 dressage and combined training championship on the weekend.
The event showcased 173 top Queensland junior riders including 22 local riders and others from all over the state.
They competed for the prestigious Maroon Rug and were judged by top officials from Brisbane as some of the best in the state.
Eliza Savage from Bowen was at the top as she and her beautiful black mare dominated her group and earned a place in the QLD state dressage team.
Many others including Melissa Lamont, Baylee Evans, Holly Watts and Georgina Lee, Tori Mansfield and Sarah Dobe finished in the top five in the state.
All competitors enjoyed the beautiful weather and the wonderful facilities at the show grounds as well as loving the local attractions and the friendly atmosphere.
It was a mammoth effort by the Cannonvalley Pony Club to host such a prestigious event and the club congratulated everyone involved.
STATE TITLES: Tori Mansfield on Ollie, Merle Niesler, Tracey Davies and Kate Purvis at the Pony Club Association of Queensland state titles in Proserpine on the weekend.
CLEARING THE BAR: Cannonvalley Pony Club rider Danielle Zwynenburg competed in the 80cm state show jumping event on Sunday with her horse Tanaker Jake 3.
GREAT TEAM: Mel Lamont and her beloved horse MJ Classic competed in the Pony Club Association of Queensland state titles in Proserpine on the weekend.
