Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

SOME fantastic pieces of art were on display at Art Whitsunday’s annual exhibition held at the PCYC on the weekend.

Art Whitsunday representative Jellena Demartini said the event featured some stunning pieces from local artists and was on par with some of their biggest ever exhibitions.

“We had close to 300 people come through the doors over the course of the weekend and everyone got plenty of positive feedback on their artworks,” she said.

“Our visiting judge from Brisbane, Anne Kirker, was particularly impressed with the standard of work put on by all the Art Whitsunday artists.”

There were nine different categories for artists to enter their works into and the weekend also featured a number of hands-on workshops for members of the public who wanted to learn new skills. The full list of results and a photo gallery from the event is able to be viewed on the Whitsunday Times website.
