New Reject Shop opens
AUSTRALIA’s largest discount variety retailer The Reject Shop has opened its 50th Queensland store in Proserpine.
The store was officially opened at 8.30am last Thursday attracting about 30 customers in its first half hour of business.
The new store is The Reject Shop’s 279th store nationally and the company’s first in Proserpine.
Located in the Faust Building on the corner of Mill and Main Streets, acting divisional manager Gerard Leehy described it as “unmissable”.
Mr Leehy said he hoped the store, which has created about 20 jobs, would be one of the leading retailers in the town.
“We’re very customer focussed and we like to be a friendly type of business where people like to come back,” he said. Store manager Tom Glisson, a local of some 18 years, said he too hoped the store would bring “something fresh and new to the town”.
“The feeling I get is everybody’s been waiting for it to come, which is good,” he said.
Mr Glisson said over the coming months he would focus on keeping customer service up and prices down.
“Our Proserpine customers will find The Reject Shop is a great place to save money on a huge range of products including homewares, kitchenware, hardware, pet care, household cleaning products, toiletries and cosmetics,” he said
